Pietermartizburg Airshow 2012
The fourth airshow in the KZN Winter Airtour was cold and grey. Unfortunately! However, a crowd of around 2500 to 3000 turned up to watch the men in their flying machines perform. From parachutists to Nigel in the MX2 and jets to STOL aircraft, we had it all. Not even the rain dampened the spirits of the parachutists. Asked if they thought the weather was marginal, the reply was if we can see the ground from 4000 feet, we jump!! Each to his own! Conditions proved to be a test for the photographers though as shooting against a grey/white background is not easy. Airlink provided an extra bonus with the scheduled arrival and departure of the Avro 85, nice aircraft. Photographs taken with my trusty Canon 5D2 and Canon 300mm F2,8 lens. Roll on Margate in two weeks time!
